From Stravinsky’s reimagining of baroque styles to Schubert’s epic Octet—written in the shadow of Beethoven—this program explores how composers absorb, reshape, and transform what came before, creating works that honor tradition while forging new paths.

In celebration of SummerFest’s 40th Anniversary, all Musical Preludes will be FREE and open to the public– not just to concert ticket holders. Non-ticket holders must RSVP at the link below. All Musical preludes take place in The Baker-Baum Concert Hall at 6 PM.
Young Concert Artist (YCA) Artist-in-Residence Radu Rățoi performs works by Rameau, Liszt, Kusyakov, and Saint-Saëns.
