All music is, in some way, a form of altering time.

We listen to a work written decades or centuries ago as it comes to life in the present, or we improvise a melody that vanishes the very moment it is born. As musicians, artists, and audiences, we become both time travelers and timekeepers.

Through a program of his own works, Andrés Martín invites the audience into an intimate exploration of music and time: what has been lived, what can never be repeated, and what remains. The concert culminates with the premiere of Martín’s Time Traveler, a piece which uses composition, layering, and real-time improvisation to create a dialogue between music that has already been written, music unfolding in the present, and music yet to be created.
