Rodriguez is one of the most exciting young voices in contemporary jazz, blending soulful piano mastery with the fresh energy of today’s alternative scene. A New York–born prodigy who came up through the West Village clubs and refined his craft at Juilliard, Rodriguez fuses jazz, funk, and soul into a sound that feels both timeless and boldly modern.

In jazz, piano and drums have always lived on opposite sides of the bandstand. No one has built a band around the walk from one to the other. No one has made the empty seat part of the music. Julius Rodriguez will be the first.

Two trios are created on one stage. One leader who anchors both from different instruments. The moment Rodriguez gets up from the bench and walks to the throne, the music transforms entirely, creating two distinct sonic identities: one lyrical and harmonic, the other rhythmic and propulsive.
