REPERTOIRE
Yuja Wang’s upcoming recital tour comes with an unusual promise: no program will be announced in advance. Audiences won’t know what they’ll hear until the moment she sits down at the piano — a deliberate departure from the printed program note, restoring an experience without a priori knowledge.
The format follows a clear set of rules: no program announcements beforehand, no applause between pieces, a continuous performance, with the program revealed only afterward. Full details of what was played will be published on this page the day following the concert.
“I want the audience to come without expectations — with no preconceived idea of what they’re about to hear. Just the moment, and the music, experienced with open ears, uninterrupted. To experience the music itself, not the expectation of it.”
