Smoking Policy

In accordance with California State Law, smoking is not permitted in any of our venues, including the outdoor Wu Tsai QRT.yrd.

Minors

No one under age six will be admitted for concerts other than The ConRAD Kids Series. Minors of any age may be reseated within the hall or asked to watch the concert from the lobby if they disrupt the experience for other ticketholders.

For ticketed family events, children aged 2 and under do not require a ticket and may be seated in a responsible adult’s lap. Children over age 2 require a ticket for their own seat.

Outside Food and Drink

Outside food and drink may not be brought into The Conrad, including the Wu Tsai QRT.yrd. Exceptions may be made for infants or persons with dietary restrictions.

Service Animals

La Jolla Music Society endorses the Federal law that defines a Service Dog as any canine individually and specially trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, PTSD, or any other mental disability. The Conrad welcomes Service Dogs anywhere in the public areas of the building where its handler wishes to go. We ask anyone planning to bring their Service Dog to contact The Conrad Box Office (858.459.3728) to ensure there is a place to accommodate the canine at a ticketed seat location. Service Dogs may also accompany their handler who is a featured event participant on the performance stages and backstage as necessary.

A Service Dog must not cause a disruption in public and must be under the handler’s control at all times. Otherwise, The Conrad management has the legal right to ask the handler to leave the property with the Service Dog.

Emotional Support (ESD), Therapy, or Comfort Animals do not qualify as Service Animals under the Federal guideline protections. We ask that owners of animals in these three categories refrain from bringing them to The Conrad. In addition, we advise owners not to bring any canine that is not a true Service Dog to The Conrad. Owners may be committing Service Dog Fraud, which is a fraud crime in the State of California (California Penal Code 365.7).

If You Don’t Use a Hearing Aid

If You Don’t Use a Hearing Aid
Listening Devices Are Available

Instructions

STEP 1

If you do not use a hearing aid, you may pick up a headset from the House Manager. If you do not see the House Manager, ask an usher to direct you.

STEP 2

The House Manager will ask for a valid driver’s license or ID to be held at the desk in exchange for a listening device and headset.

STEP 3

Once you have the headset, enter the hall through Door 1 (closest to the Concierge Desk) in The Baker-Baum Concert Hall. The headset will automatically connect to the sound system when you enter Door 1.

STEP 4

Occasionally, you may hear crackling in the headset. This happens when the signal is momentarily weak. Be patient! The transmission should normalize shortly.

STEP 5

At the end of the concert, return your device and headset to the concierge desk, and your driver’s license or ID will be returned to you.

If You Use a Hearing Aid

If You Use a Hearing Aid
Use the Listen WiFi App

The Listen WiFi app connects concert audio directly to your hearing aid via Bluetooth.

Instructions

STEP 1

Go to your phone settings and connect to The Conrad Public WiFi.

⚠ The app will not work unless your phone is connected to The Conrad WiFi.

STEP 2

Download “ListenWiFi” app. Apple phone users go to the Apple Store; Android users go to GooglePlay to download the app.

  • Respond “No” when the app asks whether to allow phone calls
  • DO allow app to connect to devices on local network notifications.
  • DO allow app to connect to Bluetooth.
  • DO allow location services while using the app.

STEP 3

We suggest you download the app in the lobby, then make your way to your seat. At your seat go to the app and select your concert hall (BBCH or JAI). Your hearing aid will automatically stream the sound from the stage once the concert begins. If the signal drops, please reconnect.

Note: WiFi signal may drop in some hall passageways. You may need to reconnect once you are in your seat.

TROUBLESHOOTING

I can’t hear the program feed or it is low volume.

Verify the device is set to the appropriate channel by selecting/unselecting the desired channel. Try to adjust your volume. If it’s all the way up, some devices place “safe listening” levels on the system and those can interfere with volumes. Try turning those options off (will vary between devices).

I can’t connect to your WIFI/no internet connection once connected.
  • Will depend on device.
  • Typically enter settings > WIFI > select “The Conrad Public”.
  • Ensure the user’s device sees the splash screen. If it does not, or bypasses it, this can cause issues.
  • Disconnect from WIFI network and reconnect.
The application only shows a countdown timer and says to connect to a network which has a Listen WiFi server.
  • Verify the device is connected to “The Conrad Public” WIFI.
  • Close the app and launch again to retry, or press the back button in the lower left corner, then tap “Scan Venue” when it appears.
  • If it still cannot find the server, delete the app, and reinstall.
  • Ensure the user selects “yes/allow” if prompted by their device to “allow the device to scan and find other devices?”
I still can’t get this application to work on my phone.

Go to our Concierge Desk and request one of our units.
