San Diego Symphony Guidelines for Attendance- Indoor Performances

The health and safety of audiences, orchestra members, staff, volunteers, and the entire San Diego community remain the top priority for The San Diego Symphony. Through close consultation with local public health officials, the Symphony has implemented the following policies for attending indoor performances in January- May 2022.

All patrons attending an indoor San Diego Symphony performance are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and present proof of full vaccination.

“Fully vaccinated” is defined by the CDC as being at least 14 days after the receipt of the second dose of a two-dose vaccine (such as the currently available Pfizer-BioNtech and Moderna) or one dose of a single-dose vaccine (like Johnson & Johnson).

Acceptable proof of vaccination is 1) the physical COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card issued to the patron at the time of vaccination, 2) a photograph of the patron’s COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, or 3) a digital vaccination record. All residents of California may request a digital vaccination record at https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov.

Patrons attending indoor performances also must wear masks throughout the performance as an additional safety measure, regardless of vaccination status.

We regret that at this time we are unable to welcome patrons under the age of 12 who are not fully vaccinated. The San Diego Symphony’s MasterWorks series is intended for fully vaccinated audiences age 5 and older.

All documents will be checked by venue operations staff before patrons will be admitted to the theatre or event space. The San Diego Symphony reserves the right to deny admission to any patron who does not provide the necessary documentation or follow any COVID-related policy.

If you will not be fully vaccinated by the date of your planned visit, you may return your tickets for a credit on your account or request a full refund by emailing tickets@sandiegosymphony.org.

Feeling Unwell?

If you are feeling unwell or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please stay home and contact our Ticket Office at 619.235.0804 or tickets@sandiegosymphony.org so we may credit your account. Additional information, including a list of symptoms, is available from the CDC.

Note: guidelines could change as state and local health authorities update their health guidance based on evolving circumstances of vaccination rates and community infection rates.
