American Perspectives II: Idealized Landscapes

Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring captures an idealized America, one of open fields and endless possibilities. This program features a performance of Appalachian Spring in its original 13 instrument version, and integrates film, dance and visual arts with the works of composers Charles Ives, Caroline Shaw, and Gabriela Lena Frank, each piece conjuring the American Landscape in its own unique way.

Prelude Interview with Tristan Cook and Inon Barnatan · Available on the Digital Concert Hall 72 hours after the performance
