Yoonah Kim
Clarinetist Yoonah Kim, praised by The New York Times for her “inexhaustible virtuosity,” is a versatile soloist, chamber musician, and educator. She launched her career as the first solo clarinetist in nearly 30 years to win the Concert Artists Guild (CAG) International Competition in 2016. She also holds the distinction of being the first woman to win first prize at the Vandoren Emerging Artist Competition, alongside top honors at the George Gershwin and Vienna International Competitions. From 2016 to 2018, Kim was a member of Ensemble Connect, a prestigious fellowship at Carnegie Hall and The Juilliard School. Through this program, she collaborated with renowned artists such as Sir Simon Rattle and soprano Natalie Dessay at the Philharmonie de Paris. As a soloist, she has performed with the New England Philharmonic, Wheeling Symphony, and Maui Chamber Orchestra. Her recital appearances include Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall and the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts. She is a Duo Music and Vandoren Artist.
