Tricia Skye, horn
Tricia Skye began playing French horn with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra in 1998. Prior to that, she studied privately with Jerry Folsom, former co-principal horn of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, as well as with James Decker and Joseph Meyer, both studio musicians. After finishing high school Skye played principal horn with the Debut Orchestra and the American Youth Symphony under the baton of Mehli Mehta. At the age of 20 Skye won a position with the Philharmonic of the Nations, a touring orchestra based out of Germany; she spent the next year traveling and performing all over the world. After returning to Los Angeles, Skye worked as a recording musician, playing for numerous records, television shows and movies. She has performed concerts with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Toronto Symphony, Phoenix Symphony, and Louisiana Philharmonic as well as the Mainly Mozart festival in San Diego and the former San Diego Chamber Orchestra.
