Stephen Waarts

Stephen Waarts, celebrated for his poetic musicality, has quickly established himself internationally, boosted by his successes at the Menuhin and Queen Elisabeth Competitions. He has since debuted with major orchestras including the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Oregon Symphony, and frequently collaborates with ensembles such as the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Hallé Orchestra. A sought-after recitalist and chamber musician, Waarts regularly performs with artists like Sir András Schiff and Tabea Zimmermann at prestigious festivals including Aspen and Verbier, and in renowned halls like Wigmore Hall and the Philharmonie Berlin. His discography includes critically acclaimed releases of Mozart Violin Concerto No. 1 and Hindemith Kammermusik No. 4. Waarts received the Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2017 and the International Classical Music Awards Orchestra Award in 2019.
