Sidney Hopson
A member of the GRAMMY®-nominated collective Wild Up, Sidney Hopson has appeared with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, LA Chamber Orchestra, Color of Noize, Indianapolis Symphony, Austin Symphony, LA Master Chorale, Bang on a Can All-Stars, American Modern Opera Company, and more. He has performed at the Academy Awards, Spoleto Festival USA, SF Jazz, Ojai Festival, Sick New World, and the Lincoln Center Festival, Big Ears, and Coachella Festivals. He has recorded for hundreds of motion picture scores, including: Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu, Superman (2025), Coming 2 America, NOPE, Avatar: The Way of Water, and Encanto. As a percussionist, drummer, timpanist, and hand percussionist, he routinely crosses genres; he has performed and recorded with John Adams, Danny Elfman, Billie Eilish, Earth Wind & Fire, Rhiannon Giddens, Ludwig Göransson, Wynton Marsalis, T-Pain, Ellen Reid, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Kaija Saariajo, John Williams, and Stevie Wonder. Hopson produces arts programs, cultural policy, and strategic plans for culture organizations, labor unions, government agencies, and artists worldwide. He has presented masterclasses and policy lectures at The Juilliard School, USC, Butler University, and the Music Academy of the West.
