Njioma Chinyere Grevious
Described as “superb” by the Chicago Classical Review, violinist Njioma Chinyere Grevious is a winner of the prestigious 2024 Avery Fisher Career Grant. Celebrated for her expressive playing, she has earned acclaim for a “dazzling performance” with the National Symphony Orchestra. Grevious is a Grand Prize winner of the 2023 Concert Artist Guild and the Young Classical Artist Trust (YCAT) CAG Elmaleh Competition, and also received First Prize and Audience Choice awards at the 2023 Sphinx Competition. A Juilliard graduate and John Erskine Prize recipient, she has also debuted as a soloist at Carnegie Hall with Sphinx, at the Concertgebouw with the Brussels Philharmonic, the Indianapolis Symphony, Chicago Philharmonic and at Wigmore Hall, among others. She is a founding member of the Abeo Quartet, which debuted at SummerFest in 2024 and won prizes at the Bad Tölz and Yellow Springs competitions. Grevious is also a member of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. She is the recipient of an outstanding violin by Pietro Guarneri of Mantua c. 1679 on generous loan from the Stradivari Society.
