Masumi Per Rostad

GRAMMY® Award-winning violist Masumi Rostad is in demand as a soloist, chamber musician, and teacher. Recent performance highlights include concerto appearances with The Knights, LA Chamber Orchestra, and Grant Park Symphony as well as festival appearances with Music@Menlo, Beare’s Premiere Performances Hong Kong, and Spoleto USA, among many others. Rostad was violist of the Pacifica String Quartet for 17 years and recorded and toured extensively in that role. Currently on faculty at the Eastman School of Music, he resides in Rochester, NY. Rostad makes videos about music and musicians for his popular eponymous YouTube channel. His viola was crafted in 1619 by the Brothers Amati.
