Kiera Duffy, soprano

American soprano Kiera Duffy is acclaimed for her versatile high soprano and incisive musicianship across a vast repertoire from Bach to Mazzoli. A specialist in modern opera, her 2025–26 season features the world premiere of Complications in Sue at Opera Philadelphia. Recent highlights include leading roles in the world premieres of René Orth’s 10 Days in a Madhouse and George Lewis’ The Comet, as well as portraying Bess in Missy Mazzoli’s Breaking the Waves. Duffy has performed at major venues including The Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Lincoln Center. Her extensive concert career involves collaborations with renowned conductors like Gustavo Dudamel and Pierre Boulez, performing with orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic and New York Philharmonic. Her discography features recordings on Hyperion, Sony, and Deutsche Grammophon, including Mahler’s Symphony No. 8. Beyond the stage, Duffy is a distinguished clinician and educator. Formerly at the University of Notre Dame, she currently serves as Associate Professor of Voice at the Eastman School of Music.
