David Belkovski
Born in Macedonia, conductor and keyboardist David Belkovski has emerged as a premier voice in the early music scene, moving seamlessly between the harpsichord, fortepiano, and modern piano. He is the founder of the New York-based period ensemble Twelfth Night, which marked a major milestone in 2024 with an acclaimed Carnegie Hall debut. Recognized for his vivid interpretations, Belkovski has directed prestigious ensembles such as Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Juilliard415, New World Symphony, and Les Violons du Roy. His recent engagements include directing the complete Brandenburg Concertos with the San Antonio Philharmonic and conducting opera at The Juilliard School. A former English Concert Fellow, Belkovski has collaborated with leading figures like William Christie and Harry Bicket, and performs regularly with ensembles such as Vox Luminis and Jupiter Ensemble. He was the first recipient of the Levinson Award in early music and won first prize at the 2019 Sfzp International Fortepiano Competition. Belkovski currently serves on the faculty at Juilliard, where he coaches vocalists and teaches historical pedagogy.
