Education Ambassador Project
Featuring Third Coast Percussion and Movement Art Is
As La Jolla Music Society’s second annual Education Ambassadors, Grammy Award-winning ensemble Third Coast Percussion and dancers from Movement Art Is will work with San Diego students on an innovative composition and choreography project.
Over the course of two months, music and dance students from San Diego will join forces online with these talented artists—all educators in their own right. Students will create a new work featuring original composition and dance, echoing the brilliant world premiere of Metamorphosis performed by the artists in The Baker-Baum Concert Hall in November 2020.
There is no cost to participate in this project.

Meet our Choreographer: Quentin Robinson
Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Quentin is a Marine Corps veteran who served in Iraq, Afghanistan and various other locations on combat tours. He has been dancing for 20 years, teaching and performing both domestic and internationally. Above all, Quentin strives to be a wonderful dad in the midst of his work.
In 2018, Quentin founded the nonprofit organization Movements 4 Movements—an organization
with a mission to empower others with movement for movement on the basis of empowerment, trust, unity, common ground, and expression.
Quentin’s dancing and expertise has been featured on many platforms, such as being a speaker at Athena Pride Women’s conference 2019, Business Innovative Factory conference 2018-2019, TEDx Bozeman, I Am Interchange, HATCH, VIDCON 2015-17, Last Best Conference 2016-17, BET, Zoe’s Summer Groove, Telemundo 2, The Roof x2, the Florida Fly competition.
Quentin has done all of this in addition to music videos and stage performances with Rising Appalachia, Base Legend Victor Wooten, Butterscotch, Blind Pilot, Portland Cello Project, and MAI’s Jon Boogz and Lil Buck (Movement Art Is) on their culture shifting production Love Heals All Wounds.
Quentin has held numerous workshops for youth in Missoula schools, at Roots Acro Sports, and with Camp Make A Dream. He hopes to ignite the spark of dance and movement in every person he has the opportunity to work with.
